Alcohol: 13%

Grape(s): 100% Dolcetto

Location: Dolcetto d’Alba DOC, Langhe, Piedmont, Italy

Tasting Notes: Vibrant ruby-purple. Aromas of juicy black cherry, wild raspberry, and violets mingle with hints of almond skin and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied and fruit-forward, showing crisp acidity, soft tannins, and flavors of red plum, blackberry, and a touch of licorice. Finishes fresh and slightly savory with a pleasant bitter-cherry lift.

Notes: Collina San Ponzio Dolcetto d’Alba 2022 is sourced from calcareous-clay hillside vineyards around Barolo and La Morra at 300–350 m elevation. Fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures and aged briefly in tank to preserve Dolcetto’s primary fruit and lively character—no oak influence.

Food Pairing: Perfect with antipasti, charcuterie, tajarin pasta with ragù, pizza, roasted chicken, and mild to medium cheeses. Its bright acidity and gentle tannin make it a versatile everyday red.

Winery Story: Collina San Ponzio is a family estate founded in 1963, now run by the third generation in Madonna di Como near Alba. Practicing sustainable viticulture and minimal-intervention cellar work, the family focuses on traditional Langhe varieties—Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo—crafting wines that express the rolling hills, marl soils, and classic Piedmontese elegance of their sites.
