Thirty years ago, Doug Rosen, President of Arrowine, realized the tremendous potential of bringing bespoke wines to Arlington and the D.C. metro area.
He began by personally visiting producers, making selections, and bringing them in, which allowed him to offer them at a reduced price solely for Arrowine's clients. He was one of only a handful of U.S. retailers (even less now) doing this. And with that, he pioneered the use of email offerings. Doug's palate and passionate prose catapulted Arrowine to worldwide recognition, making Arrowine a "Neighborhood Store with a National Reputation." His intuition and efforts proved to be prescient, and the rest is history.
Doug introduced Arrowine's clients (and the United States with the help of very talented brokers) to the work of many winegrowers who are now considered the best of their type in the world. Just to name a few, Cedric Bouchard, Jerรดme Prevost, Emmanuel Lassaigne, Stephane Tissot, Vincent, and Rรคephle Bereche, Jo Landron, Thomas Pico, Gerard Boulay, Laurent Pillot, Herve Rafflin, Fabrice Gasnier, Denis Carre, Jacques, Saumaize, Barbara Geyerhof and many many more.
