When: Tuesday, October 20th | 7:15 PM – 8:45 PM
Where: Arrowine
Tuition: $74.99 per Camper
Join your friends at Arrowine for an evening dedicated to red wine’s most captivating chameleon, Pinot Noir! While it’s notoriously difficult to cultivate and produce, Pinot Noir rewards wine lovers like no other variety. Widely considered the best food-pairing wine around, Pinot has energy, depth, texture, and soul. Pinot famously inspired Sideways’ Miles to wax poetic and change California’s wine industry. Pinot also drives collectors to enthusiastically pay $20,000 per bottle for the world’s most expensive wine–Burgundy’s “Romanée Conti Grand Cru”– if they’re lucky enough to find it!
What is Wine Camp?
It’s a guided, seated tasting designed to be more fun and delicious than a class while more educational and purposeful than a walk-around tasting. Our motto: "Leave the textbook, grab the corkscrew!"
Led by Arrowine’s Jim Cutts, a trusted voice in wine for over 25 years, this Wine Camp will build your understanding of how growing site–Burgundy, Oregon, California, and beyond–as well as winemaking techniques influence the wine in your bottle and how it will work with different meals.
Why Pinot Noir? Why October?
As autumn settles in, heartier meals push our palates toward red wines. Heartier meals make us seek wines with depth and nuance. Pinot Noir is the ultimate fall dining wine—delicate enough for roasted salmon, yet rich enough to pair with duck, root vegetables, and Thanksgiving dinner. While Pinot delivers year-round, it’s ultimate season is autumn. Because:
-
Seductive complexity: Bottomless depth and silky texture without excess weight or harsh tannins.
-
Terroir expression: Unique sensitivity to specific soils, microclimates, and winemaking choices creates diverse styles.
-
Food versatility: Vibrant acidity, supple tannins, and elegant texture make Pinot the undisputed food-pairing red wine champion and a staple on a traditional Thanksgiving table.
