Grape(s): Albariño
Localization: Rías Baixas, Galicia, Spain
Tasting Notes: Bright and saline, with white peach, citrus zest and green apple over a stony, mineral core. Light to medium-bodied with racy acidity and a long, mouthwatering finish. Made for shellfish, grilled fish and anything served on a sunny terrace.
The Domain: Zárate is the oldest Albariño producer in Rías Baixas, farming since 1707 in the Salnés Valley around the village of Meis. The family works organically certified vineyards of old vines and ferments with native yeasts, giving a purer, more textured Albariño than the commercial norm.
