Grape(s): Chardonnay
Localization: Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA
Tasting Notes: Lemon curd, white peach and green almond with a flinty edge, framed by fresh acidity and a saline finish. Fermented and raised in neutral oak so the fruit stays front and center, with a texture that keeps it serious without being heavy.
The Domain: Walter Scott was founded in 2008 by Ken Pahlow and Erica Landon, and has become one of the most sought-after small producers in the Eola-Amity Hills. La Combe Verte is their entry-level range, drawn from younger vines and declassified barrels, and is intended to show the house style at a friendlier price.
