Alcohol: 12.5%
Grape(s): 100% Ribolla Gialla
Location: Friuli–Venezia Giulia, Italy (Alpine foothills)
Tasting Notes: Pale straw with green flashes. The bouquet is delicate yet vibrant, showing notes of lemon blossom, white peach, and green pear over a core of wet stone and almond skin. The palate is light-to-medium bodied, briskly acidic, and lightly textured, unveiling flavors of citrus peel, crunchy apple, and subtle herbal nuances. A gentle phenolic grip frames the long, mineral-driven finish.
Notes: Via Alpina Ribolla Gialla comes from hillside vineyards on marl-and-limestone soils at 250–350 m elevation. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and aged four months on fine lees, it captures Ribolla’s purity and signature Alpine freshness with no oak influence.
Food Pairing: Ideal with crudo, grilled prawns, fritto misto, prosciutto di San Daniele, herbed goat cheese, and light spring pastas. Its zippy acidity also handles mildly spicy Asian dishes.
Winery Story: Via Alpina is a small family estate dedicated to high-altitude, sustainably farmed vineyards along the Julian Alps. Emphasizing indigenous varieties and minimal intervention, the winery seeks to express the crisp mountain character and complex minerality typical of Friuli’s Alpine terroir.
