Tasting Notes: Deep ruby-purple. A fresh, juicy young Montepulciano: ripe black cherry, plum, blackberry and violet on the nose, with a touch of sweet spice and Mediterranean herb. Medium-to-full bodied and plush on the palate, with soft, enveloping tannins and a burst of fresh acidity keeping the dark fruit lively. The finish is fruity and easy, closing on dark berry and a hint of almond. Ready to drink now, this is a versatile everyday red that also has the stuffing to improve for 2-4 years in the cellar.
Notes: Podere is Umani Ronchi’s Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, sourced from the firm’s Abruzzo vineyards in the hills around Ortona, where the Montepulciano grape reaches its ripest, most generous expression. vinified to emphasize fruit and drinkability — a brief maceration and early bottling keep it fresh. The 2024 vintage in Abruzzo was warm and generous, producing soft, forward reds made for early enjoyment.
