Alcohol: 14.4%
Grape(s): 100% Syrah
Localization: Côte Rôtie, Northern Rhone, France
Tasting Notes: On the palate, it reveals a fresh attack followed by an ample, structured, long-lasting finish. The wine unfurls in successive stages and ends with fine tannins produced by whole cluster fermentation. It features aromas and flavors of smoked ham, violet, graphite and licorice.
Notes: Louis Barruol sources this Côte Rôtie from old vines on the Côte Blonde and Côte Brune slopes, fermented with 100% whole clusters and aged in old demi-muids.
Food Pairing: Roast duck, beef, game birds, black pepper dishes.
Winery Story: Chateau de Saint Cosme is the oldest estate in Gigondas, farmed by fifteen generations of the Barruol family. Louis Barruol’s passion project brings his whole-bunch Northern Rhône style to old Syrah vineyards.
