Alcohol: 14.5 %
Grape(s): 100% Nebbiolo
Location: Rizzi cru, Treiso, Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy
Tasting Notes: A structured, full-bodied Barbaresco with the floral lift and fine tannins that Nebbiolo from Treiso is known for. Expect red cherry and strawberry fruit, rose petal, liquorice and a savory, tobacco-like edge, with firm but polished tannins and a long finish.
Notes: Made by the Rizzi winery from fruit grown in the Rizzi cru, a limestone, clay and sand site in Treiso. The wine ages for 12 months in Slavonian oak casks followed by 12 months in cement and steel before bottling.
Food Pairing: Roast meats, braised beef, mushroom dishes, truffle pasta and aged cheeses.
Winery Story: Rizzi is a family winery in Treiso, in the Barbaresco zone of Piedmont, led by winemaker Enrico Dellapiana. It is known for terroir-driven Barbaresco from its own named crus.
