Grape(s): Chardonnay

Location: Beaune 1er Cru Les Reversées, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Tasting Notes: Pale gold with green highlights. Elegant aromas of white-fleshed fruit — pear, white peach — wrapped in white flowers and a subtle hazelnut note. On the palate, it is pure and racy: chalky minerality, crisp orchard fruit, a creamy mid-palate from fine lees, and a long, saline finish. A precise, floral Beaune blanc of real class and restraint — the Puligny touch applied to Beaune’s clay. Drink now through 5-7 years, gaining hazelnut richness with age.

Notes: 100% Chardonnay from Les Reversées, a small premier cru on Beaune’s Pommard-facing southern slope, its clay-limestone soils giving rounder fruit than Puligny’s stony whites. This is a new parcel for the domaine, first bottled with the 2024 vintage. Hand-harvested, gently pressed, fermented and aged in French oak with modest new-wood so the fruit stays vivid. The 2024 vintage gave fresh, energetic whites across the Côte de Beaune.

Food Pairing: Perfect with roast chicken, sole meunière, lobster, scallops, and aged Comté or Brillat-Savarin.

Winery Story: Domaine Paul Pernot et Fils is one of Puligny-Montrachet’s quiet aristocrats — a family domaine critics have called one of Burgundy’s best-kept secrets, its bottlings mentioned in the same breath as the village’s most hallowed names. That same hand now shapes this rare Beaune 1er Cru blanc, a chance to taste Pernot finesse outside Puligny’s borders.
