Alcohol: 14%

Grape(s): 100 % Barbera

Location: Barbera d’Alba DOC, Langhe, Piedmont, Italy (La Morra & Guarene hills)

Tasting Notes: Lustrous purple-ruby. An expressive bouquet of black cherry, ripe plum, and raspberry coulis is lifted by violet, anise, and a whisper of balsamic glaze. The palate is medium-to-full bodied, marrying juicy dark-berry fruit with Barbera’s hallmark, mouth-watering acidity. Supple tannins, subtle spice, and a hint of cocoa round out a long, vibrant, fruit-driven finish.

Notes: Mauro Molino Barbera d’Alba 2024 comes from 15- to 35-year-old vines rooted in calcareous clay and sandy marl at 250–350 m. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel is followed by 6 months’ maturation: 80 % in tank to preserve freshness, 20 % in older French barriques for texture and nuance. Bottled unfiltered, vegan-friendly, with minimal SO₂.

Food Pairing: Pair with tajarin al ragù, fried veal cutlet, pizza Margherita, roasted pork loin, or aged Pecorino. Its bright acidity also cuts through rich mushroom risotto and tomato-based dishes.

Winery Story: Founded in 1953 and revitalised by Mauro Molino in the early 1980s, this family estate is now run by his children, Matteo and Martina. Based in Annunziata di La Morra, the Molinos farm 18 ha of sustainably managed vineyards—many in prestigious Barolo crus—crafting elegant, site-expressive wines that balance Langhe tradition with modern finesse.
