Alcohol: 13 %
Grape(s): 100% Pinot Noir
Location: Sancerre, Loire Valley, France
Tasting Notes: A bright, translucent ruby in the glass with fresh red cherry, wild strawberry and a touch of crushed stone on the nose. The palate is light-bodied and fruity with supple tannins, lively acidity and a clean, savory finish.
Notes: Pinot Noir from the limestone and flint-clay soils around Sancerre, vinified and aged with minimal oak to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Food Pairing: Serve lightly chilled with roast chicken, charcuterie, salmon, mushroom dishes and soft cheeses such as Brie.
Winery Story: Founded in 1972, Domaine Roland Tissier is a small, 3rd-generation family estate based just outside the medieval village of Sancerre. Its 11 hectares are about 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Pinot Noir, on Oxfordian limestone (Griottes and Caillottes) with a healthy dose of Silex.
