Location: Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Ruchots, Burgundy, France

Tasting Notes: The wine is described as elegant, powerful, and round, with a bright ruby-to-garnet color, aromas of small red fruits such as Morello cherry, and a balanced, rounded, silky palate. The 2014 vintage is noted for concentration, discreet tannins, and good length, with a slightly mineral finish and a hint of reduction in some notes.

Notes: The Les Ruchots parcel sits beneath Clos de Tart on limestone soils with rocks, marls, red silts, and gravel, at about 260 m elevation. Domaine Amiot et Fils says the vineyard is around 0.5297 hectare and the cuvée is typically aged in oak barrels, with about one-third new oak for this appellation. The domaine also describes the wine as suitable for drinking from about 7 years onward, with 10 to 20 years of potential depending on the vintage.

Food Pairing: Grilled red meats, white meats, and other savory dishes with moderate richness.

Winery Story: Domaine Pierre Amiot et Fils is a family domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis with long-standing holdings in the village and nearby grand cru sites, known for producing structured, terroir-driven wines from the Côte de Nuits.
