Alcohol: 13.5 %

Grape(s): 100 % Pinot Noir

Location: Côtes du Jura, Jura, France (Lieu-dit: En Barberon)

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby color. The nose is expressive and slightly wild, offering aromas of ripe black cherries, wild strawberries, and hints of peony, balanced by earthy undertones of forest floor and subtle spice. On the palate, it is fleshy and concentrated—reflecting the warmth of the 2018 vintage—with silky tannins and a vibrant, mineral core. The finish is long and savory, with a touch of smokiness and bright red fruit acidity.

Notes: The "En Barberon" parcel is located in the village of Bréry and is characterized by heavy Lias clay soils, which typically produce a more powerful and structured Pinot Noir than those from limestone-heavy sites. This wine is farmed biodynamically (Demeter certified), fermented with indigenous yeasts, and bottled without filtration and with minimal sulfur. The 2018 vintage provided exceptional ripeness while retaining the tension characteristic of the Jura terroir.

Food Pairing: Pairs excellently with roasted duck, wild mushroom dishes, grilled pork tenderloin, or a selection of local Jura cheeses like Morbier or Comté.

Winery Story: Stéphane and Bénédicte Tissot, based in Montigny-les-Arsures, are leading figures in the Jura's quality revolution. Taking over the family estate in the 1990s, they transitioned entirely to biodynamic viticulture. They are famous for their "terroir-ist" approach, producing a staggering number of individual cuvées to showcase the diverse soil types and microclimates of their 50 hectares of vines.
