Alcohol: 13.0 %
Grape(s): 100 % Pinot Noir
Location: Marsannay, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
Tasting Notes: Bright ruby color. The nose is fresh and inviting, featuring aromas of crunchy red cherries, raspberries, and wild strawberries, complemented by subtle notes of rose petals and damp earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a vibrant line of acidity. The finish is clean and persistent, showing a distinct stony minerality and a hint of savory spice.
Notes: "Les Echezots" is one of the most respected lieux-dits in Marsannay, situated on a cool, mid-slope site with thin, limestone-rich soils that impart a characteristic elegance and mineral tension to the wine. The 2016 vintage in Burgundy was marked by low yields due to spring frosts, but the resulting wines are celebrated for their purity of fruit and classic balance. Domaine Bart typically uses a low percentage of new oak (around 20-25%) to ensure the terroir remains the focal point.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with grilled salmon, roasted poultry, veal chops with herbs, mushroom-based pasta, or mild creamy cheeses like Delice de Bourgogne.
Winery Story: Domaine Bart is a discreet but highly respected family estate in Marsannay, currently run by Martin Bart and his sister Odile. The domaine has deep roots in the village and also owns significant parcels in prestigious Grand Crus like Bonnes-Mares and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. They are known for producing wines that offer exceptional value, capturing the authentic, unadorned, and crystalline character of the Côte de Nuits.
