Tasting Notes: Bright straw with copper glints. The nose delivers crunchy green pear, white peach, and citrus blossom enlivened by hints of almond, wild herbs, and flinty minerality. Light-to-medium-bodied on the palate: juicy orchard-fruit flavours ride on zesty lemon-lime acidity, finishing crisp, dry, and refreshingly saline with a gentle bitter-almond twist.
Notes: “Gossip” Pinot Grigio is sourced from 15- to 45-year-old vines rooted in the Grave’s signature stony alluvial soils (“claps”). Hand-picked at night for aromatic precision; gently pressed and cold-settled. Fermented at 15 °C in stainless steel with selected yeasts; aged four months on fine lees in tank. No oak, vegan-friendly, bottled with minimal SO₂ under screw-cap for freshness.
Food Pairing: Ideal as an aperitivo or alongside prosciutto-wrapped melon, caprese salad, fritto misto, sushi, goat-cheese crostini, or light pasta with spring vegetables.
Winery Story: Azienda Agricola Di Lenardo, founded in 1878 in Ontagnano, is run today by winemaker Massimo Di Lenardo. The estate farms 50 ha sustainably, using cover crops, solar power, and precision viticulture to maximise fruit purity and reduce inputs. The cheekily named “Gossip” line showcases approachable, fruit-driven expressions of Friuli’s indigenous and classic varieties, crafted with the estate’s hallmark clarity and zest.
