Alcohol: 13.0 %
Grape(s): 100 % Montepulciano
Location: Abruzzo, Italy
Tasting Notes: A vibrant, deep cherry-pink color, characteristic of the Cerasuolo style. The nose is intense and fruity, bursting with aromas of wild strawberries, pomegranate, and red cherries, accented by subtle hints of rose petals and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is surprisingly structured and savory, offering more body than a typical rosé. It features a refreshing acidity and a slightly saline, mineral finish that lingers with notes of tart red fruit.
Notes: The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo from Cirelli is produced using 100% Montepulciano grapes. Unlike many modern pale rosés, Cerasuolo is a traditional style known for its deep color and "light red" soul. This wine is farmed organically and fermented in stainless-steel tanks to preserve the primary-fruit energy and the distinct tension of the Teramo terroir. It represents a bridge between white and red wine, offering both freshness and complexity.
Food Pairing: Exceptionally food-friendly, it pairs perfectly with classic Margherita pizza, tomato-based pasta dishes, grilled salmon, or a selection of Italian salumi. It is also an excellent companion for spicy appetizers or vegetable-heavy Mediterranean cuisine.
Winery Story: Francesco Cirelli leads Agricola Cirelli with a philosophy rooted in the "circular economy" of a traditional farm. Located in the province of Teramo, the estate is not just a vineyard but a diverse ecosystem including animals, olive trees, and ancient grains. This commitment to biodiversity and organic viticulture results in wines that are honest, transparent expressions of the Abruzzese landscape, crafted with minimal intervention to let the fruit speak for itself.
