Alcohol: 14.5%
Grape(s): 97% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc
Location: Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France
Tasting Notes: Deep garnet-purple in the glass. The nose offers ripe black cherry, crushed plum and violet over a chalky, cool Saint-Émilion limestone character. Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, with plush dark fruit, fine-grained tannins and a long, minerally finish.
Notes: From the warm, generous 2018 vintage, produced from the estate's old Merlot vines on the limestone plateau, and aged in 50% new barriques.
Food Pairing: Roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, and aged sheep's milk cheeses.
Winery Story: Château Laroque is a Grand Cru Classé estate sitting on one of the highest points of Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau. Revived over the past two decades by the Beaumartel family, the chateau has become one of the appellation's most compelling comeback stories, its 61 hectares of old vines farmed with renewed ambition and precision.
