Alcohol: 13.0 %
Grape(s): Vermentino
Location: Vermentino di Sardegna DOC, Oristano, Sardinia, Italy
Tasting Notes: Bright straw-yellow. Citrusy, floral notes on the nose — lemon zest, white flowers and a saline sea-breeze freshness. On the palate a buttery texture is lifted by lively acidity, with saline, mineral depth from vineyards within sight of the Mediterranean. Fresh, crisp and seriously drinkable — the island’s calling-card white, ideal as an aperitivo or beside anything from the sea. Drink young over the next 2-3 years.
Notes: 100% Vermentino from the hills of the Oristano area on Sardinia’s central-western coast. Low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel preserves the varietal aromatics, followed by a month on fine lees for aromatic intensity and structure. The 2025 vintage gave fresh, vibrant whites on the island.
Food Pairing: Perfect with seafood appetizers, shellfish, crudo and white fish, fried zucchini blossoms, and fresh sheep’s milk cheeses like young Pecorino Sardo.
Winery Story: Cantina del Rimedio is a grower collective on Sardinia’s Oristano coast, where smallholders’ family vineyards are vinified with the care of a single estate. “Benas” — “good” in the local tongue — is their classic Vermentino di Sardegna, the island’s signature white in its purest, most honest form.
