Alcohol: 12.5 %
Grape(s): Sauvignon Blanc
Location: Vin de France, Hérault valley, Languedoc, France
Tasting Notes: Pale straw with green highlights. A fresh, light Sauvignon Blanc with a mineral spine: lemon, lime and green apple on the nose, with white flowers and a flinty undertone. Light-bodied and crisp on the palate, its vibrant acidity carries clean citrus and orchard fruit to a brisk, saline finish. Understated and tension-driven rather than exuberant — a French take on Sauvignon Blanc with finesse. Ready now; drink over the next 2 years.
Notes: La Glacière comes from 25+ year old, organically farmed Sauvignon Blanc vines in the Hérault valley, near the site of a 12th-century monastery. Hand-harvested fruit is vinified traditionally — in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with no oak — in the Meursault cellar of Vincent Boyer. The 2024 vintage gave fresh, precise whites.
Food Pairing: Excellent with goat cheese, oysters and shellfish, seafood salads, asparagus, or light pasta dishes.
Winery Story: Boyer de Bar was founded in 2018 by two winemaking-school friends: Vincent Boyer, fifth-generation owner of Burgundy’s Domaine Boyer-Martenot in Meursault, and Emmanuel Lucas De Bar, whose family farms organic vineyards in the Hérault. The idea is simple and rare: affordable, organically grown wines vinified with the same care and long élevage Vincent gives his top Meursaults — top-level winemaking, honest prices.
