Alcohol: 12.5%
Grape(s): Gamay Noir
Location: Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA
Tasting Notes: Crunchy and perfumed Willamette Gamay: wild strawberry, cranberry and violets on the nose, with white pepper and a fine, silky tannic frame - Oregon fruit with a distinctly Beaujolais spirit.
Notes: Hand-picked estate fruit, fermented with native yeasts with a portion of whole cluster for spice and lift, aged in neutral oak so the bright fruit stays transparent.
Food Pairing: Charcuterie, roast turkey, salmon, mild washed-rind cheeses. Serve slightly cool.
Winery Story: Bjornson Vineyard is a family-run estate in the Eola-Amity Hills with a passion for the varieties of the old world - their Gamay Noir is among a handful of Willamette Valley plantings of the Beaujolais grape, farmed alongside Chenin Blanc, Trousseau and Oregon's first Gouais Blanc.
