Alcohol: 13%
Grape(s): 100% Syrah
Location: Evia PGI, Central Greece
Tasting Notes: Pale salmon-pink color; fragrant aromas of strawberry, cherry, rose petals, and citrus zest; light- to medium-bodied with refreshing acidity, delicate red-fruit flavors, and a crisp, clean finish with subtle floral undertones.
Notes: “Amygdalies” means “almond trees” in Greek, inspired by the almond trees surrounding the vineyards of Avantis Estate in Evia. Made entirely from Syrah, the grapes are harvested during the cool nighttime hours to preserve freshness and aromatics. Gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation help maintain the wine’s vibrant fruit character and elegant structure.
Food pairing: Pairs beautifully with Mediterranean dishes, grilled seafood, fresh salads, sushi, soft cheeses, charcuterie, and light pasta dishes.
Winery Story: Avantis Estate was founded by winemaker Apostolos Mountrichas, one of Greece’s pioneering modern wine producers, and has vineyards on the island of Evia in Central Greece. The estate is known for helping elevate Greek Syrah internationally while respecting the unique climate and terroir of the region. Combining innovation with sustainable vineyard practices, Avantis Estate produces expressive wines that balance freshness, elegance, and Mediterranean character. “Amygdalies” reflects the estate’s dedication to crafting refined rosé wines with purity, precision, and a strong sense of place.
