What is Wine Camp? With wine--like with so many things--the more you know about it, the more you get out of it! If you enjoy wine and want to take the next step toward fuller understanding and appreciation in a fun and informative way, let your friends at Arrowine guide you. Wine Camp is a guided tasting. It's more fun and delicious than a formal class, yet more purposeful and educational than a typical walk-around tasting. The most fun way to learn? "Leave the textbook, grab the corkscrew!" Wine + Friends = Fun! Together, let’s take the next step toward appreciating and getting more out of wine - without any pretense or snobbery. Join Arrowine's Jim Cutts, a trusted voice in wine for over 25 years, for a seated Wine Camp focused on "The Varieties."

The Wine Grape Varieties: About FOUR THOUSAND grape varieties are used to make wine around the world. Learning all 4,000 is both impossibly daunting AND completely unnecessary! Let's learn SIX varieties that represent categories of "families"! Familiarize yourself with these six, and you'll understand and appreciate wines from around the globe and build the framework to easily learn about other wines! Six variety families give you everything you need to confidently navigate every winelist and understand what to expect from nearly every wine you'll encounter! We'll taste and discuss the characteristics and uses for each of the six key wine grape families.

You are welcome whether this is your first Camp or you joined us for Camp #1. Spots are limited, though. If you were at Wine Camp #1, we'll put those tools to use, characterizing wines in terms of body, acidity, and tannin. You'll understand and describe the most important varieties and confidently predict how factors like vintage conditions and growing region affect the tasting experience for each. We'll taste eight wines, with each variety family represented and factors like oak aging highlighted through comparisons.

Details: Limited to 20 campers, Wine Camp is a guided tasting with friends and food. You'll taste and learn in a seated, relaxed, fun, interactive environment.
