Alcohol: 13.0 %
Grape(s): Sauvignon Blanc
Location: Sancerre AOC, Loire Valley, France
Tasting Notes: Pale straw with green highlights. A classic, racy Sancerre: lemon-lime, grapefruit, white currant and gooseberry on the nose, with a chalky-flinty mineral undertow and fresh cut grass. Light-to-medium bodied and electric on the palate, its vivid acidity carries pure citrus fruit to a long, mouthwatering finish marked by gunflint smokiness and a saline lift. Dry, precise and utterly refreshing — the archetype of the style, ready now and at its best over the next 2-3 years.
Notes: The Reverdy family farms vines around Verdigny, on the slopes of the Sancerre appellation’s chalky “terre blanche” soils, where Sauvignon Blanc achieves its most mineral-driven expression. Hand-harvested fruit, cool fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel and several months on fine lees build the wine’s texture without masking its crystalline fruit. The 2025 vintage gave fresh, aromatic whites with classic Loire tension.
Food Pairing: Excellent with goat cheese — especially the Loire’s Crottin de Chavignol — as well as oysters, shellfish, sole meunière, asparagus, and fresh salads.
Winery Story: Domaine Daniel Reverdy et Fils is a family estate in the hamlet of Verdigny, in the heart of Sancerre. Across generations, the Reverdys have combined traditional vine husbandry with modern, precise winemaking, producing Sancerre Blanc of purity and typicité that anchors the family’s reputation.
