Alcohol: 14.5%
Grape(s): 100% Nebbiolo
Localization: Piedmont, Italy
Tasting Notes: The wine opens with intense, bright aromas of violets and a delicate rose bouquet, layered over bold red fruits like cherry and raspberry. On the palate it feels fresh, sapid, and lively, driven by balanced acidity and a clean, youthful character. The medium body and fine, lightly grippy tannins reflect its young Nebbiolo identity, leading into a crisp, energetic finish that favors purity and early‑drinking charm over depth or weight.
Notes: Vinification: Traditional in stainless steel at a temperature of 28 ° C, frequent pumping over. Maceration of 20-30 days to obtain a fresher and more immediate consumption product despite the structure allowing a life of more than 15 years.
Food pairing: Try with grilled beef or sausage and roasted vegetables.
The Domain: On March 27, 1900, a forefather of Giuseppe Nada sealed a deal on a vineyard, orchard, and a small house on a steep hillside in the commune of Treiso. The vineyard was in the cru of Casot, and that forefather bought the parcel from a fellow by the name of Gaja.
In 1964 Giuseppe’s father, Antonio, made the risky decision to begin to estate bottle a part of his production, requiring him to invest in a small winery (he put it in the basement of that house on the Casot hillside). It was a prescient move: in 1966 the DOC of Barbaresco, named after one of the three villages in the appellation, became established.
