Alcohol: 14.5%
Grape(s): 87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc

Tasting Notes: Ripe blackberries, plums, and dark cherries lead the aromatic profile, joined by blackcurrant and redcurrant notes and subtle hints of licorice. On the palate, the wine shows a deep ruby‑red color with violet reflections and delivers a round, juicy mouthfeel supported by smooth, well‑integrated, satin‑like tannins and lively acidity. Concentrated flavors of blackcurrant, black cherry, cassis, tobacco, and cedar carry through to a long, balanced, and finessed finish.
Food pairing: Perfect with magret de canard (duck breast) or filet de bœuf (beef filet).
Winery Story: Chateau Bourdieu is owned by Mr. Luc Schweitzer, who purchased the property in 1993. He used to pass the estate on his way to school as a young boy, and when he later learned of its high-quality clay and limestone soil, he decided to buy it. Over the past 27 years, Luc has enhanced the vineyard and estate, which today comprises 75 hectares. He manages the vineyard today with his two sons, Richard and Ludovic, who share their father’s passion for quality and terroir. Together, they strive to bring the best of the Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux appellation.
