Dry, juicy and richly concentrated through a lengthy midpalate, closing with an unctuous, supple finish framed by fine tannins and bright acidity.

Notes: Old-vine Malbec from the Catena family's historic Lunlunta parcels in Maipú, vineyards planted in the first half of the 20th century on alluvial soils at roughly 3,000 feet. Hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts and aged in a mix of French oak barrels and concrete.

Food Pairing: Grilled steak and chimichurri, roast lamb, empanadas, braised short ribs, aged Gouda.

Winery Story: Bodega Catena Zapata is the estate that proved Argentina's high-altitude vineyards could stand with the world's great wines.
